Peebles, 34; Glasgow Hawks, 31.
Peebles progressed to the semi-finals for the first time after a thrilling quarter final with Glasgow Hawks.
Two tries from Adam Moffat gave Peebles the ideal start, but Nichol failed to convert either from difficult angles.
Cameron Twigley then burst over for Peebles' third try, but again Nichol could not convert. Hawks responded with a try from Kenny Sinclair, which Steven Duffy converted.
Another try from Tom Philip brought Hawks back into the contest.
A break-out try by Philip gave Hawks the lead before the break. Duffy converted. Peebles responded straight after the break, and Twigley galloped over for his second try, and Nichol converted.
Hawks hit back with a try from Mark Sitch and Duffy converted. Dave Dillon crossed to give Peebles the lead again, and then Nichol intercepted to go over under the posts. Nichol also converted.
Philip added a third try, but the conversion went wide and Peebles held on.
