It was edgy start to final tie in the top half of the draw, but the South Africans gradually found their feet and were rewarded with a try from Gert de Kock. A good breakout brought a second score for Fiji Pienaar, which Werner Pieterse converted.

Pienaar claimed a second before the break to give the second guest side a comfortable lead.
Pretoria moved further ahead early in the second period when Jaco Roos found space to go over between the posts, and the South African’s dominance was confirmed with a further score from Pieterse.

Glasgow Hawks were rewarded for their effort when they were awarded a penalty try, but two tries from Johan Oberholzer saw Pretoria home with ease.
