The final guest side to make their appearance, Sale Sharks, posted their intentions early on with three quick tries. Warren Spragg grabbed a double and Chris Mayor also scored as the English Premiership side cruised past Hawick.
Vaughan Going stretched the Sale lead with a converted try before the break.

Hawick enjoyed a spell in the second half but Sale soaked up the pressure before breaking clear through Mayor, who claimed his second try of the tie.

Replacement Apollo Perelini got in on the act with a simple try as the Hawick defence went to pieces, and Richard Wigglesworth added to the Greens’ misery with a score in the corner.
