Kelso 29 Selkirk 5

Three tries in the opening half put Kelso in command of the opening second round tie of the Tilney Melrose 7s. Veterans Adam Roxburgh and Stevie Ross claimed the opening two tries before James Smail extended the lead with a score on the stroke of halftime.

Selkirk gave themselves an outside chance with a try from Craig Hunter early in the second half, but the fight back was short-lived as John Fleming and Ian Ian Warbrick crossed to ease Kelso into the quarter-finals.
