Aberdeen GSFP 14, Langholm 22
Buoyed by victory against Biggar in the first round Langholm looked to take the scalp of another high profile side, but it was Aberdeen who kicked off the scoring. The city side found themselves with a three on one break and it was Rob Seib who went over for the score.
Langholm continued to look hungry and a break by James Sagar, who scored all the points for his side in the first tie, again did the damage to bring his team with in two points.
Langholm threatened another surprise when Sagar sent Tom Cooper through. Cooper was well tackled just short of the line, but found Neil Cubbon in support. Cubbon was in turn held up short, but Cooper, back on his feet, collected to score. Cubbon then took his chance, breaking loose to score.
A Rob Currie try at the other end and David Teague conversion narrowed the gap, but Cooper’s second effort deep in the left hand corner put Langholm comfortably through into the next round.
