Kelso threw away an early chance to take the lead when a misplaced pass went behind the intend player. Thistles made the most of their escape when Paul Boston battled away from a crop of players and had enough speed to make the line.

Greg Ryan doubled the Thistles advantage seconds later when he powered over from close range.

Kelso veteran Adam Roxburgh got his side on the score board when he touchdown underneath a pile of players.

Kelso’s hope, though, was short lived when counters from Richard Vernon and then Ben Addison put the Thistle’s out in front. Ian Kennedy added one conversion.
David Hirst had the final say for Kelso, but it was too little too late as Kelso exited the competition in the first of the quarter finals.
