Langholm’s giant killing exploits came to an end when they came up against the physical presence of the South African visitors.

Rohan Steyl, Dwain Brown, Gordon Pangeti and Quentin Kruger all used their power and pace to put the Scots out of the tie by half time.

Langholm looked to create when they had the ball, but it was Stellenbosch who extended their lead when Quentin Kruger fed Morgan Newman just inside his own half and Newman used his pace to power away from the Langholm defence.

Newman collected his second as the Scots finally looked beaten.
