Newcastle Falcons 26 Boroughmuir 14
Newcastle Falcons were quick off their marks in this tie when Eni Gesndi broke for the line. The Falcons captain was halted just short, but Ollie Phillips provided the support to secure the score. Skeen converted.
The English side doubled their advantage moments later when Phillips again crossed to touch down between the posts and Skeen again converted.
Boroughmuir narrowed the gap just before the break when Elgin O’Donnell battled well to send Rory Couper through and Howard Graham added two points from in front of the posts.
The Scots drew themselves level when a fine dummy from Angus Martyn created the space for Sam Paulo to score below the posts with Graham converting.
The Falcons, though, went straight back in front when Skeen raced free and Mark Laycock converted. Falcons secured their place in the final when Stuart Mackie gathered after scrappy by both sides to run in for the score.
