Kelso 5 Leicester Tigers 40
Kelso made a promising start before the English visitors hit back. Kevin Utterson dribbled ahead before collecting and touching down from close range for the Borderers. Powerful running created the space first for Ignacio Mieres and then Ben Youngs to put the Tigers in front. Mieres also converted Youngs counter. The visitors from south of the border added to their lead when the pace of Mieres allowed him to put Jack Cobden into a try scoring position. Kelso made it difficult for Cobden, but he still added the score. Despite a battling performance from Kelso, their opponents kept up the pressure with tries from captain Tom Youngs and Matt Smith sandwiching a second score by Ben Youngs.
